Auckland Delivery Company – Deb and Matt purchased a brand new double door fridge for their newly renovated kitchen. One they had their eye on for awhile. It never occurred to them that their purchase might very well become a nightmare for them.

A lesson to be learnt – moving a 200kg fridge up a staircase

It’s not that their new fridge was anything short of a tech revolution in kitchenware wrapped in 200kgs of stainless steel awesomeness. Although they never considered what it would take to get this into their home. Because it had to go up a narrow flight of stairs and down the hall into their kitchen.

Firstly, they asked friends and family for a hand that were all too happy to turn up to lend a hand. However, they all left heads turned down in shame not being able to get this monster of a fridge past the first two steps of the staircase. Consequently, Deb and Matt turned to professionals from different auckland delivery companies. Firstly, they contacted a few movers around Auckland. Had them turn up only to be told once again that this was an impossible job.  Hence, they would have to buy a much smaller, lighter fridge if they wanted to get it up their staircase.

As a result, Deb & Matt finally called Smart Express. A professional auckland delivery company to book in a delivery. They had to return their beautiful brand new double door fridge to the store, only to swap it out for something basic and unentertaining.

Auckland Delivery Company Takes The “Im” Out Of Impossible

The Smart Express team turned up in a truck equipped with a tail-lift to get the fridge loaded up and on the way back to the store within the hour. Immediately William told them of the trouble with the fridge and getting it into their lovely new kitchen.

For this reason, the Smart Express guys asked for permission to have a look at the staircase before they loaded the fridge up which William was all too quick to grant as this was his last hope.

First a little measuring here and there of the fridge, secondly the staircase and finally the ceiling above the stairs and the guys came back to a wide-eyed Matt and Deb with the all too hopeful news. They said they are happy to deliver the fridge back to the store if they would like. Although they are confident that this fridge will make it up the staircase and into the empty spot waiting for a fridge in the kitchen within 20 – 30 minutes.

“Yes! Let’s do it!,” Matt said all too quickly.

They were armed with moving blankets to protect that carpet and fridge and the professional knowledge of years on the jobs. The Smart Express teams lifted, wiggled, tilted and nudged the fridge up the staircase step by step. Furthermore, taking extreme care all the way up the staircase. Next, they rolled the fridge down the hall. Finally, fit it snugly into the spot that had been waiting for that fridge for days now. As a result, Deb and Matt’s newly renovated kitchen was now complete without any damage to the fridge, the staircase or the rest of the narrow surroundings.

Going Above And Beyond For The Customer

Both Deb and Matt were over the moon that they no longer had to return their brand new double door fridge for a basic underwhelming one. Furthermore, one that would ruin the look and feel of their lovely new kitchen.
