The Smart Express October 2025 FAF rate is 10.01%.
Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) is a standard industry fee, which recognises the ever changing cost of diesel.
Our FAF is calculated using a base index price (the average retail diesel price at March 2018 of $1.42), indexed against the latest available average diesel price data on the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment website. Any 1 cent variation in the index -/+ is multiplied by 0.15% to produce the FAF.
Should the average monthly diesel price fall below $1.42 then no FAF will be applied.
