Two years ago, Hayley Heyes joined the Smart Express family. With over 25 years of
experience in the freight and logistics industry, Smart Express was the perfect fit in
allowing Hayley to utilise and translate her industry knowledge into further enhancing
and building Smart Express, its brand, and its vision.
We were thrilled to have her join Smart Express as the General Manager to
continue forth the goals and aspirations that directors, Susan and Devan, envisioned
for the business.
Hayley was born and raised in the far North. She is happily married to Steve.
Hayley is also a proud mother to Daven (22), Keenan (21), and her furbabies, Fred
the cat and Cash the dog; Cash was recently the star in some of our social posts.

Family means everything to Hayley, and when she isn’t at work you will find her with
her family and friends or hanging out at the beach.
Coming into this role, Hayley envisioned bringing forth her leadership,
positivity, and growth mindset. She was looking for a company that not only
appreciated their people and core values, but also wanted to make a difference.
Over the last two years, she has made an obvious impact on Smart Express.
Hayley has largely contributed to the development of a knowledgeable leadership
team, has built a culture of acceptance and encouragement, and has fostered a
growth mindset environment. She has made some great accomplishments thus far,
but Hayley is particularly excited for what the future holds.
Hayley has been working diligently to find new ways for Smart Express to grow, thrive and develop. As much of this hard work begins to materialise, the future for Hayley and Smart Express looks brighter than ever.
Thanks to Hayley’s dedication, experience and hard work in cohesion with the
amazing office and on road teams, Smart Express is continuing as an industry leader
in moving, delivery, warehousing and logistics. This has not been an easy feat to
tackle and has taken great effort from the entire Smart Express team.
Hayley’s drive to create a strong relationship between the teams on the road and in the office has contributed to this success. The strong and positive-natured relationship amongst the staff allows for communication and efficiency within the business to thrive.
Hayley ensures that Smart Express extends their presence and efforts into
the community. Managing a Kiwi-owned company, Hayley realises how important
community is. She has assisted in actioning and progressing our engagement in the
community and charities.
If there is one thing Hayley loves about her role, it’s the amazing people she
gets to be surrounded by. She has put great effort into creating a community of like-
minded and supportive individuals who are passionate about what we do. Now, she
gets to work with a team of people who are comfortable challenging the status quo,
have fun and respect each other, and are open to learning new things.
We are thankful that Hayley took a leap of faith and joined Smart Express.
The team wouldn’t be the same without her. She is a true leader with integrity and
Mana, and we look forward to all that’s in store for our future together!
