Devan’s background includes 20 years of managerial roles in the courier and freight industry. At CourierPost and Roadstar Transport, he designed and managed supply-chain solutions for leading NZ companies.
Devan’s vision and strategic skills help Smart Express to navigate evolving markets while creating value for customers.
Hayley’s appointment to Smart Express reflects another significant growth step for our constantly growing company. Hayley has extensive experience within the Transport Industry covering Sales, Customer Services, Operations and Management.
She has a passion for leading and developing teams that strive to be the best and likes to ensure the foundations of businesses are strong to support exceptional services to our customers.
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew works closely with the directors and Hayley and looks after the financial, commercial and legal affairs of the fast-growing Smart Express business. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience across a range of substantial corporate enterprises in New Zealand and the UK.

Sales and Marketing Manager
Mark is an experienced sales professional with over 12 years in fast-paced, results-driven supply chain operations. He is motivated to develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, and provides an authentic and collaborative approach to new business development. His focus is on enhancing our customer experience and boosting productivity by implementing smart business practices and innovative systems and processes.
Fleet and Dispatch Manager
Mike’s appointment allows Smart Express to manage and coordinate our continuously growing fleet across Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga.
Mike has a long-standing passion for the logistics industry. With his background Mike offers a genuine understanding of a customers’ needs and looks to provide high level logistics solutions that best fits their business.
Tauranga & Hamilton Sales Manager
Wayne is responsible for the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions managing commercial and residential sales along with day to day operations. Wayne hails from South Africa, another one of our team that has fallen in love with NZ and now calls it home.
Customer Sales Support Tauranga
Annie works in customer care as well as administrative support across all areas including private sales, commercial customers and related dispatch operations for our Tauranga and Hamilton operations. Originally from South Africa, Annie enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband and two kids.
Business Development Manager
Nick has been a major part of the Smart Express team after working alongside Devan for many years at CourierPost. Nick has held a number of key roles in his time and is a valuable part of the team with his operational and sales knowledge built up over the years.
Business Development Manager
Chirag has an extensive background in sales, retail and freight. While his focus is on new accounts he also has a portfolio of regular customers. He is a great team player and happily backs up other areas of the business when needed.
Dan’s job makes the moving and delivery process efficient for our customers and for our drivers. Dan is another core team member who has operated within the business in various roles and has a real feel for how things tick. Whether he is quoting house moves or dealing with his commercial customers, you know they are getting good advice and great service from ‘Dan the Man’.
Customer Experience Specialist
Zoya initially led the customer services team. However in January 2022 her role changed to focus on Customer Experience, customer resolution management and processes and staff training. Zoya’s focus is on ensuring we are delivering a 5 star service every time
Training and Logistics Manager
David brings a wealth of knowledge from the house removal industry which helps improve the quality of our service for our customers. He is responsible for training our field teams as well as our primary MPI ‘Approved Person’ for container management
Commercial Key Accounts Executive
Lana is responsible for support and operational functions across key commercial accounts. Additionally, she has responsibilities for system support across our transport management systems and telephone platform. Lana is a knowledge machine which makes her incredibly valuable to our company.
Shelly is in charge of all the accounts payable and accounting tasks working in the finance team. Shelly has an excellent eye for detail which is a great skill to have in our finance team. Shelly’s accounting skills and her calm personality make her a perfect fit to our team in Auckland.
Donna joined Smart Express in 2021. With a background in transport she has fit right in with the team. Donna works for us part time in the accounts team looking after our accounts receivable ledger.
Christian’s main responsibility is coordinating end to end deliveries for one of our key customers. With his experience in the textile industry in both sales and leadership he has a great understanding of what is required.
Caitlyn prides herself on making sure our customers consistently receive a 5 star service. Her multi tasking and organisational skills are second to none! Especially when wearing one of her many pairs of crocs.
Customer Services Manager
Kyle has brought with him bucket loads of experience in the transport and removals industry. With 15+ years experience, he has extensive knowledge helping customers move homes. He is our Customer Services Manager and leads both the residential sales team and the commercial customer services team.
Louise is a core and valued member of our private sales team. With a wealth of knowledge from her previous sales roles. Louise has been a great asset to the team and the customers love her.
Rick’s experience in retail sales and tech background ensures he fits right into his role. His calm manner is well received by house moving customers at what is a pressure time for many.
Grace is currently a member of the private sales team focusing on packing and cleaning services. She is also our specialist for the growing retirement sector, specifically helping people move into retirement homes.

Jono is studying at Auckland University while working part time for the Smart Express Team where he works across sales and operational support. He likes to play the guitar and loves his football. His favourite EPL club is Everton, which naturally jars with the two Liverpool supporters in the office!
Operations & Dispatch
Kathan has enthusiastically immersed himself in his part time role at Smart Express while he studies at university. He quickly became a great asset to the customer services and dispatch teams during his summer break. After his return to university, Kathan now plays a key operational role as part of the weekend team.
Oshadha (Osh) Kulathunga
Team Leader (Dispatch)
Osh has recently moved from dispatch to Team Leader due to his ability to understand all facets of his department. Finding solutions for those urgent jobs is what he does best and we are looking forward to seeing him share his skills with his team. Osh hails from Sri Lanka but absolutely loves exploring NZ with his wife. When he isn’t working in the office you will find him in the gym.
Sherin is our most experienced customers services team member. He has a huge wealth of knowledge and is a fantastic resource for the rest of the team.
Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor
Cameron joined Smart Express in 2021. Cameron comes from a background in aviation logistics, previously working for Singapore Airlines (cargo operations). Cameron’s role at Smart Express is managing the daily operations in our warehouse with a focus on providing an efficient service with Health & Safety at the forefront of all of that we do.

Pesa is our newest team member at Smart Express. He brings in over 10 years worth of warehousing experience. He is a great team player and loves playing / watching rugby outside of work.
