In 2005 Devan, Susan and Nick noticed a lack of high quality moving and delivery services in the Auckland region. So they made it their mission to set out to change this.

Using their significant combined previous experiences in the freight and courier industry they founded Smart Express in the hopes of creating an easier and more efficient experience for Kiwis who were moving into and out of Auckland.
Smart Express’s first van carried the motto, “when service really counts” and this continues to reflect in our work today. Our customers are the centre of our company’s culture and it is in our philosophy to provide you with the highest quality service possible.
The moving company has come along way since the early days where all the back office services were manual including the monthly invoicing processes.
The company has grown to a business of over 26 vehicles.
The Smart Express Team has 20 office staff and 30 professional movers providing moving and delivery services.
Software systems have also come along way since we first started. The team in the field are supported with and paperless delivery system including sign on glass proof of delivery technology. We also track are vehicles using GPS technology which helps us remain as efficient as possible
The business expanded in October 2018, with the opening of the Tauranga operation.
The expansion into Tauranga was largely in response to calls from business experiencing the Smart Express service in Auckland wanting the same level of service in Tauranga.
Early in 2019, Smart Express joined forces with long established and well known Auckland Transport Companies, Tiger Transport and Taxi Trucks This move saw a rapid increasing is the size of operation, in capacity and capability in the house removals and ‘pack and move’ sectors so well served by Tiger Transport over the last 25 years
Later on in 2019, after being a finalist for 4 years running, Smart Express took out the coveted EXCELLENCE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE DELIVERY award at the Auckland Business Chamber: Westpac Business Awards for the Auckland central region.
